(hide spoiler)]because i've been complaining a lot at this point, here's what i thought was absolutely amazing- and there are quite a few things: (view spoiler)[ivy's date with garrett and their scheme to make parker believe he's just as much of an asshole as he is was beautiful and i loved everything about it, and ivy and ian's suggestive banter and flirting that same evening was the stuff dreams are made of. yep, i really enjoyed these "real-life" elements ;)characters- the h would verbally slap a person for being obnoxious (or saying uncomfortable truths)- the h didn't just say or do whatever a hero-man should dictated by a fantastical (female) notion. the kitchen and living room, and bedrooms flanking the east and west. and this, dear readers, is where talent is separated from just ok. it appears that this might be a series and i hope that's the case because the secondary characters were great too. truths about dating and mating by jaycee delorenzo(riordan college #1)this book is about ivy rossini and her bestfriend, ian hollister. here is what i am suggesting: if you are looking for something to break up the paranormal, tortured, angst of the ya genre and you're looking for something filled with funnies, steamy moments to fog up your screen, and actual relatable issues of people our age then check it out! it seemed to me that the characters just over reacted to everything, it was so tiresome and dysfunctional.-it-loved-it-loved-it,Laugh-out-loud-funny,Mmm-mmm-mmm-hot-hot-hot,Sarcastic-hero-heroine,Books-on-my-e-reader,Immature decisions, jumping to the wrong conclusions and making some emotionally stupid mistakes. no one on my feed had read it yet and i stumbled upon it by chance, i figured i should be as thorough as possible! sure, there are books that you read and you're like "oh okay, that was nice" but then there are books that you find yourself so engrossed in!

she had me from the first paragraph and i just couldn't put the book down. like, dude, she may be your best friend, but she's not your girlfriend and she's particularly not your property. to help analyze every little detail and discern what it all. book is written in ivy's pov, she drove me freaking bananas, seriously i get that your 21 and in college but could you grow the f’ up? a button on the keyboard and canned applause filled the station. slid my hands over my torso and lowered my eyelids, hissing a breath in., i certainly don't want to hype it too much because as any blogger, reader, and author knows tastes are wide and often times very weird and hard to understand (eh hem, fifty shades. then he swayed us from one side to the other, winding us slowly and sinuously toward the ground and back up again in time to the music. she takes pride in helping her audience dispel many dating and sex faux pas., so i have to admit, i initially judged this book based on it's cover and title. there was a lot of humor and one part where i actually laughed out loud while simultaneously hanging my mouth in shock at something ivy did - or to be more accurate it was something that ian did to her! lately, i've read several books with "feminist" characters but you see the words are between inverted commas so… she was simply honest and i found myself re-reading many of her words; they were quite powerful. the pulls at their hearts and desires were sparked during the timeline of the book and we got to discover all of the "newness" with them. i feel like too many new adult books are issue-driven, and this one never really felt like it to me. jaycee wove the additional characters in both their lives flawlessly and complimented ivy & ian's lives very well. rest of the characters were also nice and one friend even gives some actual wise advice, so yey for realism :)genreit was very na (not ya, although they sometimes blend together.) i belive under all the hardness, the snarky comments and acting like she doesn't care, she is just as insecure as any other woman. add in a awesome group of secondary characters and you have a recipe for success. ian is vulnerable, and that made him realistic to me.’s worse, ivy’s now getting aroused by ian’s slightest touch and can’t stop entertaining thoughts of a romantic future. job and am definitely looking up more work from this author. ivy and ian have a great dynamic, and while i found myself wanting to physically punch both of them in the face at certain points, i really connected to them as characters. if you are looking for a quick and quirky read that will have you giggling and remembering your crazy college friends, pick this one up! it was such a refreshing change from all the new adult books i've been reading lately. they are now in college in their junior year and doing a talk radio show about relationships and sex. i hadn't even allowed myself to read the summary due to the fact that every time i saw the cover i thought that this novel was targeted for middle school aged girls.

a hole in the desert, and i had one all dug out for anyone who mistreated. although, she regards him much like an appendage, necessary and taken for granted, ivy started to see him a more hotter way hotter light." ian and ivy have been best friends since childhood and their comfort and banter during the talk show were wonderful..” ian’s eyes slid my way, and then quickly darted away. normally, i hate when the h acts in a passive-aggressive manner but the reader is lead to believe that she honestly thinks she does not know she is already more than halfway in love with her best friend. ivy is the only one who cares to see beyond ian's bad boy reputation, and the fact that he has sex with every girl that looks good. and then one night, at a party ian almost kisses ivy. he raked both hands through his hair, knocking the headphones. her slinkiest dress, and then dashed down to the basement to offer him a. but she's afraid to do anything about, doesn't want to destory their friendship, so she starts dating others. with their friendship and her heart hanging in the balance, can ivy follow the advice she and ian give their listeners - to communicate, be honest, and trust in themselves - or will insecurity, stubbornness, and pride ruin any chance of their relationship getting off the ground? you'll fall in love with the characters and won't want to put it down! this was not a book that had agonizing angst and deeply emotional dialog, yet it delivered a solid plot with loveable characters and humor that made it fit well into the new adult category. and capable college girls into mindless, giggling twits, ready to drop. by day, jaycee is an english language teacher to elementary students.. he has the body, he has the brain and he has the moves. in the end, ivy decides it’s best to keep her growing feelings a secret and hope they’ll pass. the main characters ivy and ian were so well written and just made me feel like they were real people that i might've met in colle. it smells like cheap sex and knockoff perfume in there. (view spoiler)[when they finally did get together, it wasn't as rewarding anymore because of all the bullshit that happened before, and i absolutely hated that ian told their story on the air of their radio show.“between classes and dropping your pants for every girl on campus, how do. slanted and the corners of his mouth tipped further down. just a moment while we sign you in to your goodreads account. she looked me up and down, snorted and rolled her. some bad, some worse, and then something comes along and you're like whoa, wait a tic, did i just stumble upon some talent? for me there was no connection and when a plot is as simple as this one, it's all about the characters.
